The Telecom Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting for the Belagavi block (2022-24) was held recently, chaired by MP Rajyasabha Shri Iranna Kadadi. The meeting was attended by all TAC members and officers of BSNL Belagavi.
In his address, Shri Iranna Kadadi urged BSNL employees to work diligently to provide better services to Belagavi customers. He also assured his support for the speedy commissioning of 4G sites in the district.
Vikas Jayakar, PGM BSNL Belagavi, highlighted recent ongoing development works in Belagavi and promised their early completion.
M. H. Talikoti, DGM NWO BSNL Belagavi, presented an overview of the achievements and future plans for the district. He announced that BSNL plans to commission 343 new 4G mobile towers within the next two months. The 4G technology, developed indigenously under the Make in India project, is touted to be superior to other 4G technologies currently in use worldwide. The 4G BTS can also be easily upgraded to 5G without additional hardware.

Furthermore, BSNL will provide 4G services to 44 remote rural villages under the Government of India’s prestigious 4G saturation project, where no private operators are currently available. The DGM noted that BSNL’s mobile tariffs are currently 30 to 40% lower than those of other operators. With the commissioning of 4G services, the quality and coverage of BSNL mobile services are expected to improve significantly within the next two months.
