The Belagavi Technology Companies Association (BETCA) wholeheartedly welcomes the Karnataka government’s thoughts towards empowering local talent and employment. While the association understands the government’s intent to empower local talent, it believes that the onus of skill development cannot be solely placed on the industry through reservations.
“The government’s decision to introduce reservations in the private sector is akin to passing the ball to the industry,” said Ajit Patil, Member of BETCA. While we are committed to nurturing local talent, the government must also play a proactive role in strengthening the local ecosystem. This includes investing in quality education, skill development programs, and creating an enabling environment for businesses.”

BETCA believes that Belagavi has the potential to emerge as a major information technology hub. To realize this potential, the association is ready to take the lead in creating employment opportunities for locals. However, it requires the government’s support in the form of land allocation for the Belagavi Technology Companies Association to create basic infrastructure and financial incentives to foster growth. With the right support, we can create a multitude of high-quality job opportunities for local youth.
