In a significant milestone for railway connectivity in the region, a CRS inspection with an electric locomotive train was successfully conducted between Kudachi and Miraj today, marking the completion of the electrification of the Miraj-Bengaluru section. This achievement is a crucial step towards enhancing rail travel in Southern India, providing a fully electrified double line from Miraj to Bengaluru.
The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) inspected the newly electrified section today, giving a final nod to commence full-fledged electric train operations. With the electrification of this key section now complete, the Miraj to Bengaluru railway line is set to become fully operational within a few days.
In addition to this significant development, the electrification work between Miraj and Pune has also been completed. This further strengthens the railway network in the region and opens up possibilities for more efficient and environmentally friendly rail services.
With the successful electrification of the Miraj-Bengaluru section, railway authorities are now eyeing the introduction of new high-speed trains to serve the route. Among the anticipated additions is the Pune-Belagavi Vande Bharat Express, which is expected to commence operations soon. The Vande Bharat Express, known for its speed and modern amenities, will significantly reduce travel time between Pune and Belagavi, offering passengers a comfortable and fast travel option.
