Belagavi, along with other cities, has been highlighted for its significant growth potential in the recently released Zinnov ‘India Tier-II & Emerging City Analysis Report.’ The report focuses on the expansion of Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in Tier-II cities, identifying Belagavi as a rising star in the sector.
Six emerging cities that Zinnov has highlighted for growth potential include Surat, Nashik, Belagavi, Hubballi-Dharwad, Warangal and Tiruchirapalli.
The top 20 tier-2 cities with a Global Capability Center (GCC) presence are: Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Chandigarh, Vadodara, Indore, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mysuru, Trivandrum, Bhubaneswar, Kochi, Vizag, Salem, Mangalore, Goa, Madurai, Nagpur, Aurangabad, and Tirunelveli.
According to the report, Belagavi stands out for its talent pool, ranking fourth in talent availability among emerging cities, driven by its strong network of engineering colleges. The report notes that the city boasts between 20,000 to 50,000 professionals in Engineering, Research & Development (ER&D), and less than 20,000 in sectors such as IT, Business Process Management (BPM), and niche specializations.
