In a striking statement, MP from Belagavi Jagadish Shettar voiced concerns that “invisible hands” are deliberately blocking the extension of the Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat train service to Belagavi. This issue has sparked discontent among citizens. Echoing the sentiments of many residents, who have long speculated about hidden forces impeding development, Shettar has now directly voiced these concerns but stopped short of identifying those involved. He hinted, however, that if these forces continued their obstruction, he would be compelled to reveal their identities.
Shettar made his remarks during the VK Belagavi Development Summit, an event organized by the Vijay Karnataka Kannada daily. On Sunday, he also attended an awards ceremony celebrating notable achievements across diverse sectors.
“The approval for the Vande Bharat extension was granted several months ago, and all necessary technical clearances have been secured. Yet, despite all procedural steps being completed, the train service has not commenced on this route. I am continually urging the responsible authorities to act,” Shettar declared, emphasizing his dedication to overcoming the impasse.

The MP’s comments have resonated strongly with the public, as many have long believed that unseen influences have slowed Belagavi’s infrastructure progress. With Shettar’s recent announcement, anticipation builds to see if he will indeed expose these obstructive forces if delays persist.
