The 14th edition of the Rotary Belagavi Marathon was conducted successfully with over 3000 participants on 16 Feb 2025 with the theme ‘Go Green’ by Rotary Club of Venugram Belgaum in association with Rotaract Club of Venugram, Belgaum. Brigadier Joydeep Mukherjee Commandant of the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre was the Chief Guest and flagged off the Half Marathon Race. The Full Marathon Race was flagged off by Sh. Vinay Balikai, President of Rotary Club of Venugram Belagavi, Event Chairmen Mallikarjun Murgude, Kapil Kalbhairav & Event Mentors Umesh Ramgurwadi and Mahesh Angolkar, Rotarian Lokesh Hangal.
The Full Marathon race in Men’s Open Category was won by Pralhad Nayak from Elite Running Academy Khanapur and Jasmitha Kodenkiri from Mangalore won the Top Honours in Female Full Marathon Open Division. Vinayak Jambotkar from Belgaum and Shyamala S won the top honours in veteran age category. The special attraction of the race was 92 year old runner Bylahalli Raghunath Janardhan from Bengaluru who completed 21 kms.
BPCL was the Associate Sponsor of the event. Aditya Birla Hindalco sponsored Tshirts for the event. Vijaya PU College sponsored Medals & Cash Prizes for runners was sponsored by Canara Bank. The other sponsors were Kings Icecream, MMA Matrix Gym, Refreshment Partner Paris Buddannavar, Hydration Partner, Sinchan, STIHL, Anita Farmhouse, Hitech Group, FDC & Event Supported by AEQUS.
Dr. Ravi Patil, Vijaya PU College flagged off the 10km race and honoured the winners. District Governor of Rotary Sharat Pai, Sivaramkrishnan AGM Canara Bank, Vijaykant Sidnal, Director of King Icecream, Pradeep Tripathi, Finance Head Hindalco, Dr. Basavraj Hospeti, Sinchan, TM Lubricant BPCL, Kumar Rajvardhan were present during the event and motivated the runners.
All runners were awarded medals, breakfast after race, Tshirt, E-Timing certificate in addition to hydration support and medical support during the race. 2000 runners from various schools participated in the 3KM Fun run.
