The Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Second Gate (Gate No. 383) is progressing with soil testing currently underway. As per MP Shettar’s statement in April, the tenders for the project are expected to be floated soon. However, with the tendering process likely to take around 45 days, it is uncertain if construction will begin before the monsoon. If the process extends into late May, major work may only commence post-monsoon.
Project Details as per earlier details posted about RoB’s in Belagavi. In actual the same may vary a little bit if the railways has made any changes, but it normally doesn’t make many changes.

The proposed ROB will span 500 meters in length and 11.5 meters in width. The bridge is likely to extend from the IOC petrol pump (Khanapur Road Cross Junction) to the end near the Junction of Garden and Govt School on Vaccine Depot Road, covering approximately 250 meters on either side of the railway tracks. (This is assumption based and may vary in actual)
Expected Configuration
Two lanes (each 3.5 meters wide)
1.5-meter-wide footpaths on both sides for pedestrians.
Crash barriers and railings to enhance safety.

While soil testing marks a crucial step forward, the actual start of construction depends on the timely completion of the tendering process. If the tender is indeed floated in April, work may realistically pick up momentum only after the monsoon.
