“We are trying to infuse science into Ayurveda,” said Dr. Kattesh Katti, an internationally renowned scientist and Professor of Radiology and Physics at the University of Missouri, USA. Dr. Katti, originally from Dharwad, is also the Director of the Institute of Green Nanotechnology, where his pioneering work has significantly advanced the field of nanomedicine. Dr. Katti was addressing homeopathic doctors and postgraduate students at Bharatesh Homeopathic Medical College (BHMC) on Monday, 24th March 2025, as part of a special lecture on Green Nanotechnology Initiatives at Kadamba Institute, an institution promoted by Shri Anantkumar Hegde, former Union Minister of State, Government of India.
During his lecture, Dr. Katti elaborated on the ground-breaking research being carried out at the Kadamba Institute, where scientists are exploring ways to integrate modern nanotechnology with traditional Ayurvedic principles. He pointed out a crucial challenge faced by these ancient medical sciences—the lack of scientific validation and mechanism-based understanding of how these treatments work at a molecular level. This, he explained, is one of the primary reasons why only about 1% of the global population adopts Ayurveda or Homeopathy.
The research at Kadamba Institute aims to bridge this gap by providing scientific explanations for the therapeutic effects of Ayurvedic and homeopathic medicines. Dr. Katti introduced the audience to a revolutionary approach in Green Nanotechnology that enhances the effectiveness of medicinal compounds. He described how nanoparticles can amplify the therapeutic payload of traditional medicine by incorporating multiple molecular signatures, thereby increasing their precision and efficacy.
This breakthrough technology has led to the development of highly potent medicinal formulations that combine the healing power of Ayurveda with the advanced targeting capabilities of nanotechnology using Gold and Silver molecules. Kadamba institute has ultra modern facilities, including nuclear facility for preparing medicines. These medicines have already shown promising results in treating cancer, COVID-19, and several other diseases. The best part of this pioneering research is that these medicines precisely target rogue cells and leave normal cells unharmed, have no side effects and cause no harm to organs like the liver and kidneys.

Dr. Katti emphasized that such scientific innovations could bring Ayurveda and Homeopathy into mainstream global healthcare by proving their effectiveness through empirical research. Products from Kadamba are available through their website.
The event concluded with an interactive session, where students and faculty engaged with Dr. Katti and Shri Anantkumar Hegde on the future of Green Nanotechnology in integrative medicine. Shri Hegde expressed his vision for Kadamba Institute as a global hub for research that unites traditional Indian wisdom with modern scientific advancements.
This initiative marks a significant step towards establishing evidence-based credibility for Ayurveda and Homeopathy, ultimately propelling them into global recognition as scientifically validated systems of medicine.
