An inmate at Hindalga Central Prison in Belagavi has attacked a warden over an alleged delay in receiving medical treatment. The incident, which occurred on Sunday but came to light on Tuesday, has prompted a police investigation.
Rahil, also known as Rohan, who was recently transferred from Hassan and placed in the high-security barracks, complained of health issues and requested hospital admission. Frustrated by the delay in permission, he assaulted Warden Vinod Lokapure, inflicting severe injuries.
Warden Lokapure is currently receiving treatment at the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences district hospital. The Belagavi Rural police have initiated a probe into the incident.
