Mohammad Roshan, IAS (Karnataka Cadre, 2015), currently the Managing Director of HESCOM, has been transferred with immediate effect as the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Belagavi, succeeding Nitesh Patil, IAS, who has been reassigned as the Director of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in Bengaluru.
Mohammad Roshan has already taken charge as the new DC of Belagavi on 05/07/2024.
Nitesh Patil, IAS, took charge as the DC of Belagavi on May 5, 2022, and served in the position for over two years.
Mohammad Roshan holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, an MBA in Finance, and an MA in Public Policy. He is proficient in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Urdu, and Konkani. Originally from Hyderabad, Roshan comes from a family of doctors. He completed his primary and secondary education in Hyderabad before pursuing engineering and an MBA. Inspired by his family’s background in civil service, he began preparing for the IAS exam during his fourth year of engineering. Although he cleared the prelims on his first attempt, he did not pass the mains. He persevered, making two more attempts while completing his MBA, and succeeded on his third attempt, securing the 44th rank in 2014.
