Deputy Commissioner Belagavi (DC) Mohammad Roshan has instructed that all necessary documents must be gathered prior to the joint survey regarding the transfer of civil areas of Belagavi Cantonment to the city Corporation.
Speaking at the advisory committee meeting on the handover of the Cantonment Housing Area to the city Corporation on Saturday (June 20) at the DC’s office hall, he emphasized the complexity of the task. He urged all committee members to proceed with transparency and ensure public confidence in the process.
Residents in the cantonment areas often own their buildings but lack documentation for the land. Roshan highlighted the need to identify and transfer roads, parks, and religious places providing civic amenities to the Municipal Corporation at no cost. He also called for a joint survey and the submission of a detailed report on the findings.

DC Mohammad Roshan mentioned that the issue of handing over the cantonment civil area will be discussed with public representatives in the upcoming meeting.
MLA Raju (Asif) Sait stressed the importance of completing the transfer process swiftly while taking the committee, public, and people’s representatives into confidence.
