The assembly session held at Suvarna Vidhan Soudha Belagavi on Monday lasted nearly 15 hours, beginning at 10:40 AM and concluding at 12:53 AM. Speaker and Deputy Speaker continued discussions until 1 AM.
Initially planned for 10 days, the session in Belagavi was reduced to 9 days due to the Kannada Literature Conference and further cut to 8 days following a day of condolence for former Chief Minister S. M. Krishna last Tuesday and a government holiday on Wednesday.

To make up for lost time, Thursday’s session extended until 10:15 PM, and Monday’s session surpassed even this duration. Despite a 30-minute adjournment for lunch and disruptions during the evening, the session effectively ran for 12 hours.
As some MLAs attempted to leave, the Speaker persuaded them to stay, humorously stating, “When there’s a cricket match, you sit and watch till midnight, don’t you?” With support from both ruling and opposition members, the session continued until midnight.
