A state-of-the-art Bal Bhavan, modeled after the renowned facility in Bengaluru, is set to take shape in Jadhav Nagar Belagavi. Aimed at fostering creativity, education, and recreation for children, the project promises to play a key role in shaping their holistic development.
Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, who heads the Department of Women and Child Development, announced the initiative during the foundation stone-laying ceremony held at Jadhav Nagar on Tuesday. The upcoming Bal Bhavan will feature exciting attractions such as a mini-train, fantasy park, science park, a theater, and a variety of recreational activities.
The facility, planned across approximately three acres of land valued at ₹100 crore, will be developed with an initial budget of ₹20 crore, of which ₹2 crore has already been released. The land, previously under the Revenue Department, was secured for the project under Minister Hebbalkar’s leadership.
In her address, Minister Hebbalkar also shared plans for constructing a new district office for the Women and Child Development Department, which currently operates without a dedicated building in Belagavi. For this purpose, a separate ₹6 crore budget has been allocated, with ₹4 crore already disbursed.
The Bal Bhavan project is expected to become a landmark in Belagavi, offering children a space to learn, play, and grow while providing modern infrastructure for their overall development.
