Another tragic loss has been confirmed in the recent stampede at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, as Arun Khorpade, husband of Kanchan Khorpade(Shetti Galli), has succumbed to his injuries. This brings the death toll of Belagavi residents to three.
Earlier, reports emerged of the deaths of Jyoti Hattarapath (50), a resident of Vadgaon, Belagavi, and her daughter Megha Hattarapath, who had traveled to Prayagraj for the Kumbh Mela. The mother-daughter duo had gone missing during the stampede, and despite repeated attempts, their family members were unable to reach them. It was later confirmed that both had lost their lives in the unfortunate incident.
The group, which had traveled to Prayagraj three days ago via Sairath Travel Agency, included 12 other people. Among them, Kanchan Khorpade and her husband had sustained injuries. While Kanchan survived and was able to contact her family in Belagavi, Arun Khorpade’s condition deteriorated, leading to his passing.
